NEWMOA-NERC Action Plan
In 2014 NERC and NEWMOA established a unique and unprecedented partnership to help advance sustainable materials management in the northeast through a “NEWMOA & NERC Joint Strategic Action Plan”, which identified the following areas and others for collaboration:
- Food scraps reduction, recovery, and management
- Recyclables collection and impacts on manufacturing and end-users
- Recycled content mandates
- Extended producer responsibility
- Household hazardous waste
- Climate and materials
- Construction and demolition materials
- Chemical recycling
While the formal written “Action Plan” has expired, NEWMOA and NERC continue to collaborate on topics of mutual interest to ensure we are not duplicating efforts for our state members.
