Materials Management - Keep Food Out of Landfills

NEWMOA partnered with waste management authorities in rural areas of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont to provide support and training on reducing the disposal of food as waste – specifically through food waste reduction, composting, and donation from 2017 to 2019. The goals of this Project were to reduce the generation of wasted food; increase recovery and donation of edible food; and expand home composting of food waste that cannot be reduced.

NEWMOA and its partners:

• Hosted stakeholder workshops and a national webinar
