Hazardous Waste Projects

NEWMOA coordinates a variety of projects that address priorities of the member states concerning hazardous waste. The current projects include:

• Development and delivery of training on a wide range of hazardous waste and related topics; and

• Assisting the Region 5 Auto Body Initiative with the Small Business Environmental Assistance Programs in the EPA Region 5 states to implement an Environmental Results Program (ERP) for autobody refinishing shops.

NEWMOA also works with the states to develop policy positions on EPA rule making, policies, and guidance when appropriate.

Past projects of note include:

• Development and implementation of Common Measures for Environmental Performance (sometimes called Environmental Results Projects or ERP) for priority sectors, including RCRA Small Quantity Generators (SQGs).
