PFAS: Some Basics (webinar)

Linda Gaines, US EPA presented Historical Uses of PFAS [PDF]. The presentation showed Linda’s extensive research and divides the uses known to have led to environmental contamination from those not confirmed as known sources.
Ian Ross, CDM Smith presented Broad Spectrum PFAS – Detecting Precursors [PDF]. Ian discussed how to understand per versus poly fluoroalkyl substances, the influence of manufacturing method, precursor transformation, and the importance of getting the full picture. Analytical methods and examples were discussed.
