Thank you to those of you who were able to join us for a webinar on PFAS Visualization Case Studies for Site Characterization, Remediation, and Forensics. This session explored practical methods and real-world case studies for visualizing complex PFAS datasets to support site characterization, remediation, and forensic assessments. Visualization approaches demonstrated during the webinar focused on evaluating multispecies PFAS inter-relationships to characterize relative source contributions within commingled plumes; comparing site concentrations to background levels in soil and groundwater; assessing lines of evidence for precursor transformation to PFAA end products; interpreting TOP assay results; evaluating relative attenuation trends along flow paths; and monitoring remediation performance.
This session featured a presentation from Grant Carey, Ph.D., President of Porewater Solutions. Dr. Carey has more than 30 years of experience in PFAS fate and transport, site characterization and remediation, environmental forensics, and groundwater modeling. He is currently involved in multiple SERDP and ESTCP projects for the U.S. Department of Defense focused on PFAS remediation and is a co-developer of the Visual PFAS™ software demonstrated during the webinar. Dr. Carey also serves as an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto.
