Mr. Shea described the key aspects of conducting vapor intrusion (VI) assessment and mitigation in residential settings. Topics will include: how VI occurs, typical contaminants of concern, sampling methods (soil vapor, sub-slab vapor, and indoor air), screening criteria, addressing VI variability and uncertainty, rapid and long-term mitigation methods for existing and new structures, and available guidance, standards, and resources.
