DESCRIPTION:The second Revitalizing New England: Brownfields Summit was held\nMay 29 & 30\, 2024 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland\, Maine\nAgenda as of May 20th [PDF]\nSponsor Exhibit Information [PDF]\nThe Northeast Waste Management Officials’ Association (NEWMOA) partnered with the brownfields programs in the New England states and tribes and the University of Connecticut Technical Assistance to Brownfields (UConn TAB) program to organize another two-day Summit to advance understanding of state and federal brownfield programs and opportunities. The goals of the Summit were to: \n\nShare information about the financial incentives\, liability protections\, technical and other assistance available for brownfields development from federal and state governments\nPromote best practice and lessons learned across states and tribes\nProvide an opportunity to increase networking and information-sharing among key stakeholders\n\nThe two-day Summit included plenary and break-out sessions and an exhibit area. Approximately 400 people attended\, including representatives from: \n\nState\, tribal\, and federal government brownfields and waste site cleanup programs\nLocal\, regional\, and state economic development agencies\nReal estate developers\, financial institutions\, and law firms\nPlanning and economic development consulting firms\nLocal governments\nInterested citizens & groups\nJob training grantees\nEnvironmental professionals\n\n
