With disposal costs on the rise, generators of many wastes are proposing to reuse their waste in new products. Each NEWMOA state has developed a program to evaluate these proposals, a beneficial use determination (BUD) process. NEWMOA established a BUD Workgroup that produced several products for state use only: a searchable database of all the BUDs that have been issued by the NEWMOA states and a table comparing the BUD application requirements of the NEWMOA states.

Current work on the NEWMOA BUDs database includes adding new data fields, updating data, and adding BUD information for additonal states.

Moreover, the Workgroup produced fact sheets for the public on selected waste/use combinations. The available NEWMOA fact sheets are listed below.

  • Beneficial Use of Non-Hazardous Coal Power Plant Fly Ash as Flowable Fill
    View as: pdf, April 2001
  • Beneficial Use of Tire Shreds as Lightweight Fill

  • Beneficial Use of Wood Ash on Agricultural Land

  • Comprehensive Procurement Guideline (CPG) Program
