Laws and Regulations: Mercury
Abstract: Under certain Federal environmental statutes, such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, EPA has the responsibility to develop regulations to control some mercury emissions to air, water, or from wastes and products. In addition, states also develop regulations to address mercury emissions.

Mercury Reduction and Education Legislation in the IMERC-Member States
Abstract: This document summarizes the Mercury Education and Reduction Legislation that has been enacted by the Interstate Mercury Education and Reduction Clearinghouse (IMERC) member states as of June 2008. The states that are members of IMERC include California, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.
