School Mercury Reduction

| Program Description |
The School Mercury Reduction Program holds workshops for science teachers to show them how to reduce mercury in their schools. In addition, the program promotes implementation of a mercury curriculum and has developed a collection program in which cash bounties can be received for surrendered mercury devices (in Milwaukee, Superior, and Fox River Valley). |

| Program Results |
Many workshops have been held to date under the School Mercury Reduction Program.
Bounty collection program results:
Milwaukee- In 2000, 32 schools participated and brought in 300 pounds of mercury.
Superior- In 2001, 35 schools participated and brought in over 150 pounds of mercury.
Fox River Valley- In 2003, 11 schools participated and brought in 70 pounds of mercury. |
