Guidance to Compliance with IMERC-Member State RequirementsState members of IMERC have enacted a variety of mercury education and reduction requirements in their states' laws. Not all of the IMERC-member states have enacted the same requirements. This Webpage provide guidance on compliance with the following state requirements and describes which IMERC-member states have enacted those provisions: Product Labeling and Notification: Provides guidance to help manufacturers, importers, and distributors of mercury-added products understand how to comply with Labeling and Notification requirements in Connecticut, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington State. Product Phase-outs: Provides guidance to help manufacturers, importers, and distributors of mercury-added products understand how to comply with California, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont requirements for the phase-out on the sale of certain mercury-added products (and how to apply for an exemption where allowed). Product Bans: Provides summary of bans on the sale of certain mercury-added products throughout the United States. Collection Plans: Provides guidance on requirements mandating that manufacturers, importers, or distributors of certain mercury-added products establish a collection and recycling system when the product is ready to be discarded in Connecticut and Rhode Island.
