U.S. EPA Region 2 and the Northeast Waste Management Officials' Association (NEWMOA) held a 2-day workshop focusing on Non-Regulated Pollutants - Brominated Flame Retardants (BFRs) and Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCP).
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2 in collaboration with the Northeast Waste Management Officials' Association (NEWMOA) hosted a 2-day workshop on non-regulated pollutants and emerging concerns: the case of Brominated Flame Retardants (BFRs) and Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCPs). The workshop provided a general opportunity to learn about current efforts of EPA and other partners to address certain non-regulated pollutants and emerging concerns, and how EPA and other partners could improve their capacity to respond to newly identified potential pollutants and chemicals of concern.
This workshop targeted EPA, state, tribal, and local government environmental officials.
