Green Chemistry

Organization(s) New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation
Project Description In a partnership with State University of New York (SUNY)-Potsdam, NYS DEC developed three green chemistry experiments during the summer of 2008. As a follow-up to this initial effort, New York State's Pollution Prevention Institute (P2I) and NYS DEC PPU staffs are discussing a project for the development of a green chemistry curriculum for K-12, including five additional green chemistry experiments. The proposed project will include a series of integrated curriculum modules that will meet the Regent's chemistry standards with a focus on green chemistry principles and safe laboratory practices.
