| Project Description |
In the winter of 2000, the Pollution Prevention Unit underwent several staffing changes. The Project Management and Coordination Section was renamed the Implementation & Evaluation Section, Dennis Lucia remained the section chief. Bob McCarty was the State Agency Environmental Audit Team leader (SAEA). Michael Flynn joined the SAEA team. Cheryl O'Brien was the Technical Assistance and Outreach Team leader. Dottie O'Hare, Sharon Rehder, Tanya Lahr and Carlos Montes were named Special Project Coordinators.
As of April 15, 2003, the NYS DEC Pollution Prevention Unit operates under the Division of Environmental Permits (DEP); Jeff Sama is the Director of DEP. Mary Werner, the former Director of the Pollution Prevention Unit, is enjoying retirement. Dennis Lucia, formerly the Chief of the Technical Assistance and Outreach Section of the Pollution Prevention Unit, is now Chief of the Unit. Unit staff continues to function as a distinct entity within the Division of Environmental Permits, retaining their program identity, phone numbers, and key functions. |
