2001 Pollution Prevention Conference

Project Description The Ninth Annual NH P2 Conference was held on Monday, April 16, 2001, at the UNH campus in Durham. The theme was "Better Business Through Energy Efficiency and Pollution Prevention." Conference topics included advanced technology vehicles, reducing and managing electronic waste, "Industries of the Future" program, energy service companies and performance contracting, TRI P2 cases studies, and consolidating emergency management and hazardous communication plans.

The Eighth Annual New Hampshire Pollution Prevention Conference was held on Monday, April 24, 2000, at the University of New Hampshire's New England Center in Durham. That year's conference theme was "Improving the Environment While Increasing Profit." Experts from business, industry, government, and academia discussed the latest advances and strategies in Pollution Prevention (P2). The conference was geared to manufacturing and financial managers, environmental coordinators, quality control managers, engineers, technical professionals, and other related managers. Conference topics included regulatory changes, company case studies, ISO 14000, energy issues, environmentally preferred products, mercury management issues, OSHA risk reduction, and finance/accounting software. Keynote speakers included Governor Jeanne Shaheen, N.H. Department of Environmental Services Commissioner Robert Varney, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Carol Browner, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 1 Deputy Regional Administrator Mindy Lubber, and Cirtronics President Gerardine Ferlins.
