| Project Description |
The Department has developed the Environmental Excellence Awards program, replacing existing awards programs. The Environmental Excellence Awards recognize industry, government, and non-government organizations for innovative and sustainable practices benefiting the environment. A significant element of this program is that it enables the consideration of organizations in transition from past problems to innovations and notable performance improvements. Over 80 applications were received by the Department through July 15, 2004. The applications will be reviewed by an external advisory committee that will recommend award winners to the Commissioner. |
