TURI held a full-day Toxics Use Reduction Planner Continuing Education Conference in March of 1999 in Taunton. The conference was designed for certified planners, facility managers, maintenance supervisors, and others interested in the issues of toxics use reduction, P2, and cleaner production. Three full-day sessions were offered in Environmental Management Systems Design, Critical Thinking for Cleaning Alternatives, and TUR for Electroplating and Surface Finishing. Half-day sessions were scheduled on Packaging Reduction, TUR Project Implementation: Challenges Overcome, Peer Mentoring for TUR, and Energy Efficiency in Pumping Systems.
A TUR Continuing Education Conference took place on May 7, 2009, in Devens, MA and included a tour of the Bristol Myers Squibb facility. Workshop topics included toxics use reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, reducing toxics in products/articles, and reducing materials in solid waste. |
