P2 Plan for Dental Facilities
| Organization(s) |
Maine Dept. of Environmental Protection
|
| Project Description |
In May of 2000, the Maine state legislature passed a bill requiring the development of a P2 plan for dental facilities by July 15, 2002. A stakeholder group was assembled with members from Maine DEP, Maine Dental Association (MDA) and Maine Wastewater Control Association (MWWCA), along with concerned citizens and a special interest group.
Maine DEP completed the legislatively-mandated P2 plan for dentists in 2002 and is now proposing a companion piece of legislation that will require amalgam separators at dental offices. |
