| Project Description |
The Pollution Prevention Unit initiated an outreach program for the Electronics and Computer Industry. Environmental Compliance/P2 and Self-Assessment manuals have been developed. The Compliance/P2 manuals summarize air, water, and solid and hazardous waste regulations as they pertain to the electronics industry with references to pollution prevention techniques. The Self-Assessment provides a checklist of P2 measures that address materials handling and storage; printed wiring board manufacturing; semiconductor manufacturing; and CRT de-manufacturing and material recovery. These documents are available from the Unit and are also downloadable on the Unit’s website: www.dec.state.ny.us/website.ppu. P2 Workshops for the Electronics Industry were held in November 1999 in Binghamton, Rochester, Bethpage, and Albany. |
