Pollution Prevention at NH Marinas

| Project Description |
The NHPPP has completed their marina site visits and distribution of Best Management Practices for New Hampshire Marinas (view online at www.des.state.nh.us/nhppp/marinas_bmp). BMP topics include vessel maintenance and repair; engine maintenance & repair; engine test tanks; oil waste streams; used oil and used oil filters; solvent waste streams; absorbants/shopwipes; sumps & floor drains; wastewater; stormwater; vesel cleaning; bilge socks; vessel sewage; clean vessel act; fish cleaning; aerosol cans; antifreeze; batteries; mercury-containing lamps & devices; and the clean marine engine initiative.
During follow up site visits, NHPPP measured the implementation of the suggested BMP guidance. As a result, NHPPP distributed two fact sheets for marinas: Management of Engine Test Tank Wastewater for Marinas and Management of Bilge Wastewater for Marinas. |
