| Project Description |
The One Plan Case Study project is a joint effort by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and OTA to promote the inherent benefits of the integrated contingency plan (ICP, or "One Plan") guidance, and provide a useful model for facilities to follow when developing their own One Plans. The project places an emphasis on the use of pollution prevention as a primary means of reducing or eliminating sources of risk, as well as the importance of working directly with local emergency planning committees (LEPCs) and other response officials.
With the help of contracted emergency planning experts and two volunteer facilities, OTA and EPA produced model integrated plans and accompanying case studies, each of which describe the plan development process, highlight lessons learned, and provide an evaluation by OTA and EPA.
OTA is preparing to hold a number of workshops based on the project for businesses and communities throughout Massachusetts. Interested industry representatives and local officials should contact OTA to set up a workshop in their area. |
