Hazardous Waste EventsHazardous waste inspectors and other staff across the Northeast need ongoing training on new requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures that EPA develops. They are also interested in sharing information on state regulatory interpretations that may be important to their field activities. NEWMOA coordinates a Hazardous Waste Training Workgroup of state program managers and staff that develops a training program for state inspectors each year. This program consists of: Monthly Information-sharing Conference Calls or Webinars - each year the Hazardous Waste Training Workgroup selects topics for calls after conducting a survey. Annual Workshop - each year NEWMOA holds a one-day advanced RCRA inspector workshop, typically in EPA Region 1. This effort is funded by EPA Region 1-New England from state hazardous waste assistance grant funds, awarded to NEWMOA at the request of member-state environmental agencies.
